How to get Premiere to recognise AME

Premiere 2015 - Windows 10

At some point I updated to 2017 then when back to 2015 versions of Pr, Ae and AME. However now when I try to queue from Premiere it doesn't recognise that AME is installed. I've got AME 2017 and CS6 in my program files - so is it just that I've got the wrong versions installed?

Thanks for reading/commenting.

Zoomed M2V files

When transcoding MP4 video files into M2V files using Premiere Pro (CS6), the resulting video appears zoomed:

Windows media player, VLC and Splayer all show the same zoom, which implies its not an issue with the media player. Any suggestions on how to solve this?

AME 2018 (202) warning - video and/or audio filters are missing and the rendered output may not match the original

Does anyone know why I'm getting this warning since updating AME to the latest 2018 build 202;

"video and/or audio filters are missing and the rendered output may not match the original"

AME 2018 build 202.png

But on my second machine that I've not updated yet (AME 2017 1.2. build 11.1.2.35) the same project file is fine?

I know it looks like I have a work around in my second machine, but that's busy doing other stuff most of the time. Any help would be appreciated.

Media Encoder "Failed" on almost every video

I wish I could be more specific about the issues I'm having with Media Encoder - most people's problems I've seen thus far have been with a single project, and a diagnosed and repeatable problem. Not so lucky in my case, but here's the situation:

Media Encoder fails on renders. It fails on all my projects at this point. This started about 2 weeks ago. I create my sequences based on my footage settings. After that, it's a combination of Adjustment layers with Lumetri colour for grading, occasionally graphic layers, but not always. Sometimes using type, not always. Sometimes with After Effects sequences through media link, but not always. If I have only one sequence rendering it fails. If I have multiple sequences, the first one fails, then ME rapidly runs through the balance of sequences and fails them all in about 6 seconds. Again that's with or without any of the variations to my timelines above. That's also across at least 5 different projects, using 3 different camera sources and 3 different audio sources. These combinations and variations from these same cameras and audio sources have all rendered no problems at all previously to a couple weeks ago. If I render the projects directly from Premiere, they render fine, using the same settings. If I restart, then ME will mostly render them fine, but not every time.

I've updated the app recently. I've re-set the app preferences. I've cleared the media cache, by using the preferences method, and manually clearing the "common > media cache" folders. I'm on Windows 10.

Frustrated, as I'm not doing anything repeatedly the same, and assuming I haven't spontaneously forgotten how to do post properly, I have no idea where to even look for the issues. Anyone have any ideas?

Can I convert an MOV file to WEBM and OGG file using any of the program in the Adobe Creative Suite?

Hello Everyone,

Is there any program in the Adobe Creative Suite (CS6) that will allow me to convert an MOV file to WEBM and OGG format? If not, can you recommend a free or inexpensive converter that I can download for the Mac, which will help me convert my .mov file.

Thank you in advance!

No audio when transcoding DNXHD/HR files shot on Atomos Shogun Inferno

So I've got a strange problem that's likely to become a bigger headache:

Whenever I try to use AME to transcode from the Avid DNxHD or DNxHR files shot on my Shogun Inferno, the video exports just beautifully, but without audio.

The only way I can get it to export with the audio is to take my individual clips into Premier, and export them through AME as individual sequences, which works, but slows down the workflow when I'm trying to do things like, make smaller files to share with someone who can't handle DNxHR 4K, or make mp4 proxies or reference files for various needs.

I found a few forum entries from older versions, but the solutions listed didn't solve the problem.

Any advice on how to solve this problem? I've got a current workaround, but like I said, its a little slow.

Just to summarize:

I'm using Media Encoder CC 2018

The files are the quicktime .mov files from the Atomos Shogun Inferno recorded with the Avid DNxHD and HR codecs

And I'm trying to transcode them to h.264 or h.265 mp4s to share/store/etc.

Final file exports without throwing any errors, but there's no audio.

Embed "Tape Name" in meta data

Hi,

I am encoding proxies of large amounts of files from different cameras in AME. To make sure the on-lining works, I need to fill in the "tape name" meta data, which is empty in some footage (eg MXF). Is there any way to do this in AME for a batch of files? Or a workaround?

Thank you very much, L.

Adobe Media Encoder Log.txt keeps growing to over 140GB. Filling up my SSD

In the past two weeks I've been getting warnings from my Mac Pro saying my SSD is nearly full. As I type, I have 1.24MB of a 250GB drive left.  That's not a typo.  I've tracked it down to the Adobe Media Encoder Log.txt file. It's twice grown to over 125GB. This time it's 146.62GB.

The first 60 lines or so of the file look like this...

The rest of the file is full of Ticks that look just like this over and over again.

I would upload the file, so you could see but obviously it's too big.

I've had to delete the file just to keep my system running but I'm sure, at this point, that it will be back within the week.

How can I stop this from happening?

No more CBR option in Bit rate Mode or Bit rate Encoding ?!

Hi, there is no more VBR or CBR options in media encoder cc2018 ?!
There is just a box for limiting the data bit rate to what you want, but when analyzing the file, it is still vbr...
One client still tell us that our new files aren't cbr.

Is there a bug or a new place for this setting  ?
Can't seems to write directly to some support to Adobe, it keeps giving the options of forums or faq... doesn't help at all.

Media Encoder CC 2017 (11) Very Slow

The latest version of Media Encoder seems to be very slow to render even short videos. A 15 minute video rendering to an MPEG DVD is taking more than an hour. I've tested with multiple projects, some with advanced effects and others real simple and the results always seem to be consistent: They take too long to render. The previous version would render a video this short in 20-30 minutes using the same codec settings, so it has to be an issue specifically with the latest version.

I have tried clearing the media cache which hasn't helped.

Any help or suggestions would be great!

Media Encoder forcing DV output at 29.97 when 24P selected

Hello,

I am trying to convert an HD ProRes HQ 1080p at 23.98 to DV24P (the orchestra studio in Europe where we record score to our film is still in the DV world...) but every attempt at setting Media Encoder to output DV with 23.98 yields a 29.97 file. This creates issues with the ProTools session and out-of-sync issues.

Any ideas on why this happens and how to overcome it?

I had Lr, Ps, PPro and AME in German. I changed my cloud app to English (win10) and deinstalled and reinstalled all. Everything appeared in English, except AME, that stayed in German. What do I need to do to have AME in English?

Media Encoder 2018 Version 12.0 - framerate issues

$

Hey there,

i recently created a new After Effects 2018 (Version 15.0.0.) project with 25,00 fps and sent it to Media Encoder 2018 12.0 (Build 202). I then sent this file H264 file to my sound designer, who is working with QBase. When he imports my H264-file, QBase tells him that the framerate is 24,98 fps, not 25,00. I checked the file on my computer with premiere and Quicktime and it says 25,00 fps.

So i opened an old Media Encoder 2014 and set the framerate manually to 25,00 fps. If Imported this file into QBase, it works and QBase says 25,00 fps.

Compared in QBase, the Media Encoder 2018 is shorter than the Media Encoder 2014 encoded file ... So there is definitely something wrong?!?!

We had a lot projects together in the past and this never happened until today ...

Can anyone help?

BR and thanks in advance
Daniel

Media Encoder CC rendering issues

Since upgrading to Media Encoder CC 2018 a few days ago I am having major problems rendering files I could render perfectly before the upgrade. These are simple compositions created in After Effects (also upgraded at the same time). They are only 10 to 15 seconds long, use no plugins or special effects.

Before upgrading they would render from Media Encoder in a matter of seconds / minutes, and the rendering would start immediately. Since upgrading they frequently take 5 minutes to begin rendering, often complete but with errors, and more often than not I get a 'Cannot read from source' error, or Media Encoder just hangs and nothing happens. The files work fine and play perfectly in After Effects, and will render with no issues or errors from there. Prior to updating the software a few days ago I never had this issue.

Changing the renderer - Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL) / (Metal) / Software only - makes no difference.

I'm using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)

Encoder merge wav with video

Hi, have searched everywhere in forums but did not find what I was wondering about.
Has 200 audio files in wav and video files in h.264 each part so I want to merge both audio and video into the same file and have tried Encoder with stitch tools but it just became video, for example, audio after not at the same time.
Do not want to do in Premiere pro because it would take a lot of time to rename file names and export each file.
Is there a faster way?

Media Encoder ne veut plus quitter

Bonjour,

Weird Issue in the CC2018 Media Encoder

$

Hello,

i think i might have found a weird bug in the current Media Encoder.

For jobs i export one Master and the transcode it to 720p and 1080p. Each as a MP4 File as H264 Codec, MOV as DNxHD Codec and WMV as Windows Media 9 Codec. However this always leads to a crash.

I've tried all the presets i usally use on their one and it didn't crash.

So I've tried both resolutions but both as the same File and Codec and it didn't crash either.

Every time it crashes it also happens that Media Encoder crashes right away when i restart it and only a restart of the computer will fix this.

So naturally this is very annoying since i cant't just make one long queue in AME but have to add them in pairs of 2 and for every codec separetly.

Is there a way to fix this?

Any help is appreciated.
