Does Media Encoder support lossless JPEG 2000 MXF, or only lossy?

I saw the recent news update that JPEG 2000 is supported, but I am not clear on whether that is only for lossy, or covers lossless as well. I do not currently have the product, and my decision to purchase it would be based on this answer. Thank you!

Media Encoder Jpeg 2000, lossless. Does it follow specification of Jpeg 2000 (ISO/IEC 15444-2)

Confused about Adobe media encoder mxf OP1A Jpeg 2000 Encoding Option whether it lossy or lossless.

And if it is lossless, does it follow Jpeg 2000 Standard Compliance Defined by JPE Group 2000?

we are going to encode hundreds of uncompressed video File into jpeg 2000 using media encoder.

Just need to be sure that we are getting output accn to standard Jpeg 2000 lossless format as defined by Jpeg committee and published as ISO/IEC 15444-2.

Suggestion would be valuable before deciding Encoder (media encoder, vantage etc) to transcode hundreds of video file into our house format ie. Jpeg2000.

Reduce M2V files size

I've experimented a bit with transcoding video files to MPEG-2 format in premiere pro, but no matter what, I always get an HUGE file (from 1GB to 6GB). So here's the question, is there a way reduce M2V files to a more manageable size?

Change Media Encoder's Splash Screen?

Hi there,

Bit of an odd question, but I know there's a way to change the splash screen's design for Adobe Illustrator CC 2017, I went into folder within Program Files and found the PNG file. However, for Adobe Media Encoder I don't see the same when searching through the program files. Does anyone know of a way or if there is a way to change the splash screen for Media Encoder, as you can do it for Illustrator?

Thank you.

Adobe Media Encoder is not installed, but it is

So I just bought Creative Cloud and have just started to try to figure out how to use After Effects today.

I have imported a movie and added some text animations, and I am trying to export the video to the Media Encoder but I keep getting the following error.

AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLInkServer: Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. Please download and install it to use this feature. Go to https://creative.adobe.apps . ( 5027 :: 12 )

After I click "OK" I get the next message:

AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLinkServer: Failed to connect to Adobe Media Encoder. ( 5027 :: 12 )

So I really don't know what do because I have just started using After Effects but I would like some input on how to fix it because I would be able to like to export a video at some point.

The Render Engine is installed but whenever I try to open it nothing happens but After Effects opens again. At one point I had four After Effects open at once and didn't realize it.

If it matters, I did install the CUDA plugin.

So if anyone could give me some information or support on this matter I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Microsoft LiveCam Studio+Mac+MediaEncoder= Not Working!

Hey! This one's a bit of a specific problem. I'm currently using a Microsoft LiveCam Studio HD webcam on my Macbook Pro (specs below just in case). I'm trying to use Adobe Media Encoder to stream in HD but it absolutely REFUSES to recognise there's a webcam plugged in. I checked that perhaps the driver needed to be up to date but lo and behold, Microsoft doesn't want to provide drivers for Macs, so I tried using 'Webcam Settings' by Mactaris which was recommended online to act as a mediator as instructed and either I'm doing something wrong or it's not working either, Encoder continues to insist there's no webcam connected. Help?!

Macbook specs:

Macbook Pro, 13 inch, mid-2012, running High Sierra (10.13.1)

2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

The webcam is the Microsoft LiveCam Studio (Microsoft Webcam: LifeCam Studio | Microsoft Accessories )

I'm using Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2

Ask me if you need any other details!

AME CC2017 crashes mid-encode

Running PC, Nvidia 670 (I think), 16gb RAM, AME/Premiere 2017

AME quits encoding when I come to the same point in my timeline every time I try, according to the viewport I used the crop effect with a small scale with two still images then moved in a third still image with a crop over the top of the first two. I get the "baa baa haa" sheep sound every time. I can tell my computer starts to work harder during the first two. It encodes the first two, then gets through most of the third still image then quits. I did something very similar for a project a few years ago in CC2015 and had no problems then.

I used two other stills with a crop (no motion) earlier in the timeline and they rendered fine. I've used these stills from the same camera with the same resolution hundreds of times with no problems. This specific issue seems to be with the motion of the crops.

I've seen a handful of suggestions over the past three years, but now one thing from Adobe providing a concrete response to anyone's issue. I'm not really into sending a trouble ticket to them since they'll never respond. Plus, every other person who've claimed to have filed a ticket has never responded with help from Adobe anyway. I've tried:

- moving all video up one track and placing a new black layer beneath

- creating a new PP project (2017) and importing the timeline into the new project

- cleaned out the cache in preferences

Anyone have any ideas or guidance?

Thanks to all.

Media Encoder not encoding, encoder panel flashes on for half a second only

I've never had this problem before, but I do now.  It's appearance has followed my recent update to the latest Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 update (Version 12.0.0, Build 224) and Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018 (Version 12.0, Build 202).  Of course I'm not saying that these updates caused the problem, just making note of the timeline.

Here is what happens:  I export a sequence from Premiere Pro using the File > Export > Media menu commands.  Premiere Pro's Export Settings dialog opens, I select the Export Settings I want, then click on the Queue button.  All seems to work normally, as Media Encoder opens, and I see the sequence listed in the Media Encoder Queue.

However, when I start encoding the queue, there is a flash of activity in Media Encoder's Encoding Panel, lasting maybe half a second, then the Encoding Panel goes blank and inactive, showing only the default words "Not Currently Encoding."  A green check mark appears next to the sequence on the Queue, giving the appearance that it has been encoded.

But it isn't encoded.  It could not have encoded in less than a second.  When I navigate to the Output File, there is a file there with the title I requested for the video, however the File Properties show the video as having a duration of 00:00:00, and the video does not play.

If it helps any, here is a Dropbox link for a video, lasting 7 seconds, that shows what happens on Media Encoder when I click on the green arrow to start the queue.

So as many other users I can't upload to youtube through premiere or AME anymore. Happened after last update. I used that feature on a daily basis, so I would appreciate if Adobe could at least respond to this issue...

Anyone else found a solution yet? I tried everything I can think of..

Might just chat with support tomorrow, see what they can come up with

Gltiches in Exported Video

I've exported two videos in the past two days... it's actually the same hour long video, and both times at about 40 minutes in there still be a horizontal glitch across the frame.

WHAT IS THIS?

How do I fix this?

It already takes an hour to output the video and just as long to check the finished video, it would be nice if AME could do its job.

Output Names -- Adobe Media Encoder

By using the renderer within After Effects CC, you have the option to quickly adjust and customize the output name of a composition, For instance you can add properties such as the compressor, date, file extension, frame rate and much more.

I have not been able to find this option with Adobe Media Encoder, which I use because it has the H.264 encoder option and After Effects does not have that encoder.

Is there a way to customize and add those properties automatically without having to do it manually for every single file?

Publish to Vimeo Not Working

I am trying to publish videos directly to Vimeo from Media Encoder.  Each time I use publish it shows I am logged in to our vimeo account.  I pick a Vimeo preset and send it to the queue.  Everytime I render out it errors.  The error message states "Vimeo(Not logged in to Vimeo) - Not logged in to Vimeo"

I typically use the vimeo presets, and I've also tried other presets and exporting options. I get the same error for each.

thanks for any help.

EError: “AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLinkServer: Adobe Media Encoder is not installed

$

I have a corporate license to Adobe software. I am using Premiere Pro CC 2015 and After Effects CC 2015.  Today, I was having an issue using an MP2 file with Premiere Pro.  So I saw something and ran "Updates" hoping it would solve the issue.  I don't know what it did but it broke After Effects.  When trying to export a lower thirds project, I got the following error: “AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLinkServer: Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. Please download and install it to use this feature. Go to https://creative.adobe.com/apps."   which is then followed by AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLinkServer: Failed to connect to Adobe Media Encoder.”  I uninstalled After Effects and Premiere Pro and re-installed them both.  I still get the same error.  I assumed Adobe Media Encoder was installed but when I go look in the same folder where the other Adobe software is (Programs), it's not there.

How does Adobe Media Encoder get installed (part of PP or AE)? I also found a URL where I could download an AE "update" - ran that and I get an error saying the "patch is not applicable to you".  I think somehow through this process Adobe Media Encoder was uninstalled and not re-installed with either PP or AE.

Dolby Codec not installed

My mac lab runs Adobe CC.  Recently I ran RemoteUpdateManager through ARD to update CC on these macs.  Now users are getting the warning: DD.png

User profiles are wiped upon logout, so this error pops up any time a subsequent user edits AVCHD footage or exports audio as Dolby Digital.   Is there a dolby digital codec I can download/install?  Or, am I stuck having to create a new user template for each workstation...

CS4 frame grabs show wrong color correction

$

I'm using CS4 with Windows 10.  Screen shots (frame grabs, freeze frames) created by Adobe Media Encoder as single frame BMP or tiff files do not show the color correction that I see in Premiere's monitor window.  There is color correction, but it is wrong (far more saturated, color balances incorrect.)  Is there a solution for this problem?

The screen shots are correct in Windows Photo, but not in Windows Photo Viewer.  They are also incorrect in Photoshop.
