AME - Unknown Error encoding failed/freeze/hangs h.264

Hi Guys,

I am using Premiere  Pro CS (6.0.3) update. I have been working on Premiere , After Effects  and AME for at least 1 year. I bought Adobe Production Premium Box. Usually I use footage from Canon 5d and  GOPRO 2 and 3. Lately, longer video have been  crashing after 10 min  when rendering to H.264 - mov or just h.246 in 1080p 25fps (both using AME and Direct Export in Premiere). I  never had this problem before with longer videos (10 min long and more). I tried different source paths, no effects, frame blending, turn of Mercury Playback engine.

Messages:Unknown Error Encoding failed - if using AME (sheep sound)

Or: Freeze - the program does not repond and I have to close it

Using direct premiere export - freezes or just stands still during rended/hangs.

MXF, loosles AVI seems fine.

I tried different projects and all formats. I checked CPU temp and it is max 60C.

I lost all hope. Is it hardware?

Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit

MB Asus m4a785t evo

AMD Phenom II x4 955BE

Nvidia GTX 580 DCII (Cuda)

SSD - system (256GB)

2 x hdd 7200 (2x500GB)

Ps.  i used cache clean, mercury playback on/off, different GPU - still  crashes on H.264 (Youtube 1080, Vimeo 1080, Android Table 1080 25fps)

Any tips?

Hi there,

When using the watch folder system within AME, is there any way of preventing the software moving source files once they are transcoded???

This is problematic for me as other users are linked to these files over a network.

I'm currently using Adobe Media encoder CC version 7.2. with Mac OSX version 10.9

Any help would be much apprciated.

Thanks

Dynamic Link not working AT ALL (CS5.5)

I've been trying to queue a sequence from Premiere Pro to Media Encoder (both CS5.5), and it says that Dynamic Link isn't working. I tried to make a new After Effects composition with my sequence through Dynamic Link, and it says that I don't have it installed (I do and can sucessfully open it). So, Dynamic Link doesn't work at all. Working on a Mac here. Help?

Media Encoder CC hangs when working with 96/24 audio

Title says it all! Has anyone else had this problem with Media Encoder CC? I just upgraded from CS5.5 to CC, and there were no issues with encoding 96/24 audio with CS5.5. I can reduce the audio files to 48/16 and theres no issue, but all the asset files for audio are in 96/24 and I'd of course rather work with the high resolution audio. I've tried searching the interwebz on the issue but can't find anything specific to the audio causing Encoder to hang. Thanks!

why won't Adobe Media Encoder export WMV?

I am using Adobe CS6 Design Standard with Adobe Media Encoder, and I'm trying to export video files to WMV using the Encoder.  I'm am running Windows 8 and for some reason the option to export to WMV does not come up for me.  I only get four options of formats, while online it says I should have many more.  This is a full version of CS6 that I bought and paid for, and every program is up to date.

AME not encoding, encoding works in Premiere

Every time I send a project to AME it says it's ready, everything feels like it has loaded in, so I press start queue and the progress bar shoots along once and that's it. So far no progress and also no error or warning signs. What can I do? Exports work out of premiere but this is just so slow. AME doesn't crash at all, the files just don't budge.

Any info is appreciated

System info

Running Adobe CS6 and have run and installed updates today.

Windows 7

Intel (R) Core (TM) i7 CPU  920@ 2.67 ghz 2.67 ghz

Ram 12gb

64 bit OS

Projects all sit on a raid drive, Gspeed eS - 5.5 TB

I have 20 gb free on my computer drive, where program files are kept and 85 gb free on a separate media cache drive.

I edit AVCHD files mostly, and add in AE comps which can be anything from simple and complex vector based animations or screencasts and modified footage.

9GB of ram is available for the Adobe applications, which I've set in the AME preferences. Often it only will use/share 6gb between applications but I believe that is all it's capable of using.

Error when exporting from After Effects into Media Encoder

Hi there. I am using After Effects CC and am trying to export>add to Adobe Media Encoder CC. Upon doing so, instead of the file being placed into Media Encoder CC, I get an error message Screen Shot 2014-01-08 at 6.55.45 PM.png

I just updated to most recent update of After Effects via the Cloud today but no difference. Instead, After Effects just creates a folder on my system to house a duplicate composition file with "tmpAEtoAMEProject" at the beginning of file name. I can use the render queue out of After Effects just fine.

Can someone give me a solution to how I can export out to Media Encoder CC? Probably something simple I am just missing. I don't know much/can't find much about how to know if Adobe Dynamic Link components are installed. Oh, and I have also tried to just drag the files into Adobe Media Encoder too but I still get this warning. If it helps, I am on an imac OSX 10.8.5. Thanks!

encoding h.264 with an audio format other than AAC?

$

AME CC only lets me encode an h.264 with AAC audio, and that's the one format I *can't* use for this project! Without descending deep into the crazy world of ffmpeg command lines, is there any way to encode with AC3, WAV, MPEG-2, Vorbis, or FLAC? I hear the occasional murmur of plugins but have never seen a link to such a thing.

AME CC Crashes on Startup (PC)

Same problem here on a PC, not mac. If you launch Premiere Pro CC and try to export to AME, AME crashes and 2 out of 3 times, this causes PP to crash.

If you lauch AME ahead of time, it normally doesn't crash when you export from PP.

This never happens with CS6 counterparts.

AME CC and PP CC are also a backawards step for those of us who still produce DVD's for clients. I think it's arrogant of Adobe to think that just because they don't do discs, that their clients won't either.

Audio plays back at faster speed than the video on exported .MXF files

I have tried making several different adjustments to try to remedy this problem.

But no matter what I do, the audio plays back at a faster speed than the video maybe 3x or 4x.

I am not sure what causes this. I haven't had this issue exporting other formats.

I have tried the original source file as a ProRes422 HD file. or as an HD XDCAM EX 35mbps 4:2:0

and either way the exported .mxf file has crazy audio.

Can someone help me out here?

Thanks in advance!

Need export settings for grass valley T2 iDDR

I'm getting ready to send my show over to a cable station. There requiremnts need to match a Grass Valley T2 IDDR playback unit. They support a wide range of files (DVCPROHD, MPEG-2, Quicktime, HQ AVI, Windows media Video HD), but the frame rates listed are 59.94i, 50i, 24P and 23.98P. Most of the 1920x1080 presets are for 29.97. Any suggestions on thye best preset or settings to use? It list HQ AVI as an acceptable format, is that the same as mp4 (H.264?). Here's a link to the file formats supported (page 15): http://www.grassvalley.com/docs/Application_Notes/servers/t2/PRV-4146M _EDIUS_T2_AppNote.pdf

AME CS6 Application Not Activated

Today I went to queue some videos in Adobe Media Encoder that I edited in Premiere Pro CS6 and received a message saying that the program that installed ME was not activated.

"Thank you for installing Adobe Media Encoder CS6. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not actiavted. Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuting to use Media Encoder."

When I click OK and it closes. I can export direct out of Premiere (single exports), but ME will not open.

What are my options here? I've tried rebooting, but that didn't do anyting. Is there an actual issue with my serial number, or is there a problem with the program itself? Is there any kind of workaround to get Media Encoder running?

Premiere indicates that is it fully activated and I have no issues with it.

Adobe Media Encoder CS6 Random Crashing Mid-Render

$

Hello -

I've been dealing with this issue for enough months and across enough computers to finally seek out some advise here, hope it works out...

Basically I've got a 2 hour long film that I've been trying to export using Adobe Media Encoder CS6. It's never made it all the way through. I can usually skim through the generated quicktime file up to the point where the crash occurred. I've tried using that as a reference to check out my sequence in Premiere but there is never anything suspicious going on there. Most frustratingly the crash occurs randomly. Sometimes it will go through 10 minutes of the film; sometimes an hour. Regardless I get a crash with a report that has no specific information.

Footage:

r3d - Various resolutions, all being cut in a 2048x1152 sequence.

Quicktime mov - ProRes4444 for the most part.

Machine(s):

I had been attempting to render this for the past few months with a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.8.4 w/ 16GB RAM, 2.7 GHz Intel i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024MB - never made it through a render longer than 50 minutes of the 2 hours.

We recently got one of the new 2013 Mac Pro systems running OSX 10.9 w/ 16GB RAM, 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB

The hope was that this new powerful machine would overcome the issues we were running into with these renders. Since I'm posting this now you can probably figure out that it didn't really work out that way...

Software:

AME- 6.0.2.81

Premiere - 6.0

I know there are updates to be used here, but whenever I update Premiere from just 6.0, the project itself becomes a buggy mess, crashing constantly. I also run Creative Cloud and have tried to just jump over to Premiere CC hoping all my problems would vanish, but instead, I again get a buggy project that constantly crashes. The only version of Premiere that seems to work with this project is 6.0, so general updates have not been useful (and instead damaging, I've wasted several days trying everything I possibly can to make the project work in the updates).

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

AME fails to start encoding after AE CC adds to queue why?

Hopping to get some help for a relative neebie.

I am testing a very small AE CC project. I basicly just animage 10 frames of a start moving across the frame.

When I goto Add to Adobe Media Encoder Queue... Nothing happens. Well almost nothing. The folder and temp .aep file is generated but then nothing happens.

So I then try adding an After Effects Composition from AME itself.... I use the dialogue to browse to my composition. I click it and I get a connection bar spining at the bottom and then finally a message: "Connected to DynamicLink Server". I can't click OK because the OK button is disabled. I click away and then click back and now the status says it's "Connected to my Project"

Can anyone tell me whats happeneing here?

Cineform Encoding not utilising CPU/GPU in AME

$

Hey folks, I'm working on a machinima project at the moment with fairly massive amounts of data. We are acquiring our images at two resolutions, 2560x1440 and 3820x2400, which is generated with Uncompressed RGB .avi files. I am then using the watch folder tool in Media Encoder to convert these to Cineform 444 Filmscan 2 .avi files. There is only a slight amount of disk space saved by this transcoding but the main reason we do this is becaus Premiere seems to be able to play back the Cineform files fin in realtime, where as it can't playback the uncompressed files.

The issue is, that Media Encoder takes about 5x realtime to do this encoding. I have tried with and without Cuda switched on and it doesn't seem to want to utilise my hardware. The CPU usage is about 14% of one core, and the GPU is even less.

Is there a reason Cineform can't max out my CPU/GPU usage in media encoder?

I have tried this on two systems with very different specs, and have the same results.

System 1: i7 3770K @ 4.6GHz, 32GB RAM, 2x AMD 7970 GPU, 700MB/s RAID5

System 2: i7 980X @ 4.2GHz, 24GB RAM, 2x GTX 780, 700MB/s RAID5

Media Encoder Re-installation Problems

Earlier today I was having problems with Premiere Pro CC, so I deleted and uninstalled it. I later reinstalled it, but no longer have media encoder cc. I've tried downloading the latest version from adobe's site, but when I try to download I get this error message:

Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2 Update

Update is not applicable. Error Code: U44M2P28

How can I reinstall the latest version of media encoder?

Thanks,

Jordan
