AMEWebService - Any Documentation available?

$

Dear Users / Support Staff,

I wanted to implement a way to allow our video cutting personal to access the centralized rendering machine, when I noticed the ame_webservice_console.exe and AMEWebService.exe. Unfortunately, I am unable to find any sort documentation, tutorials and I only found only one other topic even mentioning the files. Long story short, I was able to initialize the system and to install the AMEWebService via "AMEWebService.exe -install" (again - NO helpfile / docs / hints) and executing "ame_webservice_console.exe" successfully started AME and a (more or less) useless web server on port 8080.

The afformentioned web server always redirected me to "/ameservice/console.html" which displayed "404 Not Found" or "501 Not Implemented" (only tried default GET Requests).

Debugging the provided DLLs and Exe files revealed that it should provide lots and lots of features ranging from starting and stoping the encoding processes to gathering status information and task histories - but I simply can't get it to work.

Even though a messaged suggested to add "--help" to the ame_webservice_console.exe did not help either.

Does ANYONE know ANYTHING about this? API, SDK, ... does not matter.

I would kindly appreciate any help, tips, and suggestions!

I am working with a VM and a fresh installation of MS Windows 10 Enterprise and Adobe Media Encoder CC 15 with all recent updates and tried it with both elevated user rights and as a default user.

Thank you very much in advance,

Jörn

AME Watch folder issues

Hello! I've been having this issue for about 3-4 months now. In a watch folder scenario, Adobe Media Encoder fails moving the source file when finished.

It creates the folder with the date and time where the file is then supposed to be sorted, but instead the source file stays in the watchfolder itself. If I check which application that is currently keeping the file locked, it's AME and nothing else.

Can be quite annoying if I have to restart AME as it then decides to re-encode everything in all the watch folders. Especially since many of these files automatically gets sent and published to places afterwards

This goes for any folder, be it on a local drive or a network share. I'm using it on Windows 7 and recently did a complete reinstallation as I thought it was the OS that was doing something spooky. Turns out it wasn't and now I'm out of ideas.

Encode ERROR from .mts files

for years I have never had a problem encoding files from my Sony NX5U (.mts 720p) I have just started to have errors. The log is pretty generic:

Encoding Time: 00:15:30

03/18/2016 02:21:53 PM : Encoding Failed

-------------------------------------------------------

Export Error

Error compiling movie.

Unknown error.

My work around is to encode to .avi and then encode again for DVD.

Any ideas?

After Effects 2014 to AME 2015

Is it possible to drag AE 2014 comps in AME 2015?

I recently switched back to AE 2014 and I get the following error when I drag a sequence into AME 2015.

Dynamic Link Error: Source is empty.

I can still use Import to get the sequences into AME 2015, though it's not as quick of a processes as dragging.

Adobe Media Encoder CC won't let me import a specific Premiere Pro sequence

I am on a trial version of Adobe Media Encoder CC. I am trying to import a sequence from Premiere Pro (I have an old version 2.0) and it won't let me pick a specific sequence within the project, it will only let me import the first sequence. The sequence dialogue box that is supposed to open when I select 'Import Premiere Pro Sequence' under 'File' is not opening, it will only let me select a project, and then will import the first sequence of that project automatically. The box in Preferences for "import sequences natively" under Premiere Pro is greyed out and I am unable to change, it, which is what I apparently need to do to enable Dynamic Link. However I think it's possible that either the trial version won't let me do this, or my version of Premiere is just too old and there is an incompatibility.

QuickTime Export Error QuickTime for Windows cannot export H.264 on computers that have more than 16 CPU cores due to a problem in the Apple H.264 compressor component. Export Error Incompatible Video Codec found in the preset

After doing a recent update I am now getting this error pop up.  I have already tried to reinstall QuicktimePro and I still get this error.  Any thoughts on what may be causing this problem and how I can resolve it?

Thanks

Flash Media Live Encoder 2.0

I am trying to find Flash Media Live Encoder version 2.0. Can anyone provide a download or direct me where to get the download for this version?

We have a TriCaster Studio which we can video stream directly from it. When we went to try to stream, it said that there was no encoder on the TriCaster (which it should have had it on there already). So I put on FMLE 3.2. This did not work as the Studio does not recognize that as a streaming encoder for some reason. The more I looked into it, I found out that it has to be FMLE 2.0 and upgrades to it cause it not to work. The earliest version I have been able to find is FMLE 2.0.1.1114. I tried it, but it is still not working. So I am trying to find the original FMLE 2.0 to see if that will make it work.

Media Encoder Won't Fully Quit

When I quit Media Encoder, it will close, but then it still shows up when I command+tab to switch applications. And when I go to force quit, it shows up there as well, but will never actually quit when I force quit it.

When I try to reopen Media Encoder by launching the app itself, it doesn't do anything. Then if I "queue" an export from Premiere, it will open Media Encoder but now when I command+tab, Media Encoder shows up twice.

Then if I try to quit again it will just keep doing the same thing. Then when I try to restart/shut down it will begin the process but always locks up and I have to manually force the computer to turn off by holding the power button

until it turns off.

I'm having this issue on my iMac and my MacBookPro. The iMac has been doing this for a month or two. I thought it would've been fixed in an update but my OS (I'm on Yosemite) is up to date, as well as all my Adobe apps.

My MacBookPro has just started doing this in the past couple of days.

H264 Export audio problem : 318kbps instead of 320kbps any idea?

$

When I setup my export H264 MP4 with (AAC, 320 Kbits/s, 44 kHz, Stéréo) Media Encoder systematically generate a file with an 318 kbps audio instead of 320..

Any idea ?

Why is Media Encoder stopping every few percent on a simple export?

$

I've just edited a 10-minute sequence in DV PAL in the latest PPro on my Windows laptop (2013 Sony VAIO, 8GB, Core i3, Windows 10), using QuickTimes captured on my Mac. The edit went very smoothly, and there's really nothing complicated going on, just a few speed changes and titles dissolving on and off.

But it's proving impossible to export.

I initially tried to export it as an MP4 using the YouTube 480 SD preset, but after exporting a short amount it crashed with the "error compiling movie, unknown problem" issue. It did this over and over.

Then I decided to export it using Match Sequence as an AVI or MOV, with the idea of using a different app to compress it for YouTube. But I'm getting a different problem; now, it exports a few percent and then stops to think about it. At first, it's going so fast it estimates that it will be complete in under 2 minutes (because there's no transcoding or recompression going on, right? Apart from the short sections where there are captions), but then it starts pausing, and now I'm 34% into an export of a 10-minute DV PAL sequence and it's saying it will take another 40 minutes. It does this whether I choose AVI or MOV as the export wrapper.

I've used PPro and Media Encoder under OSX with absolutely no issues. This is my first experience on Windows, and it really isn't a good one. Well, PPro works fine, it's Media Encoder that's the issue - and without Media Encoder working properly, I can't get my project out of PPro in a useable form.

Any suggestions?

EDIT - it just crashed again with the "compiling" error.

So this keep happening. I added an After Effects composition to the queue and upon export, it gives me this image when it's exported as H.264. However, if I choose any other format it doesn't manipulate the images at all. Do you guys have insight on what could cause this?

Adobe Media Encoder is an independent software ?

Hi,

I have a question for Adobe Media Encoder.

Is this is an independent software? Or is it related to other software ?

What is the price ?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Have a nice day.

Best regards,

Sylvain

Publishing to YouTube not getting Processed by YouTube

I've done a few tests now and when I use the publish option in Adobe Media Encoder (current release), the videos get stuck uploading on the YouTube side (frozen at 0% in YouTube video manager). If I upload the local encoded file to YouTube manually, the videos get processed.

My default browser is Chrome on OS X (latest version). I"m still tinkering with this, so I'm wondering if anyone else is having issues. I do use the highest profile settings (5.2) and a high bitrate (30mbits), and the videos I am working with are about 10 minutes long.

folder output in presets!!!!! Come on ADOBE!

Huge failure Adobe!

Not having a folder output or "destination" in the presets creates way more clicks than necessary.

Master output in preferences and watch folders are not enough options. NEEDS TO BE IN THE PRESETS!!!!!!!

Sticking with Apple Compressor until you figure out how to reduce clicks.

AUTO renaming features in presets would kick *** too!

Like if I wanted to add HD or SD x amount of characters in.

Example:

file name 0001 Movie.mov

ADD HD after the 0001 with spaces

0001 HD Movie.mov

Timecode overlay looks bad

Hi.  On a regular basis, I need to send edits to my producer for approval on a series we are working on.  I export an HD timeline from Premiere Pro CC 2015 and queue it in Media Encoder.  I want to add a Timecode Overlay to the final file I will send to my producer, but am resizing my clip to SD (854x480 - aspect ratio) so I can send a smaller file.  My problem is that the Timecode Overlay quality sucks because of the resize, it would appear.  Is there a way to make the timecode look better when you are scaling down?

Random audio added to the end of videos rendered in Media Encoder

$

I am experiencing a problem with Media Encoder.  When I export from Premiere to Media Encoder there is a random audio blurb from the timeline ended at the very end of the video when played back. This first happened to me while working as an editor at a production house last week. I had to export directly from Premiere else this random audio blurb of music or talking would end at the last second or two of the final render. They were running the latest Premiere and Media Encoder versions. Now, working at home on my own suite, I find the same thing happening on a totally unrelated project. AND it started a few days ago when I updated to the last update as well on both programs. If I export directly from Premiere the video is fine. If I export with Media Encoder, the audio blurb is at the end the video the majority of the time. Any one else experiencing this?

One of the things I love about CC is the ability to export while still working. Something you could not do with the FCP and Avid suites I had worked with in the past. But now I cannot export and keep working because Media Encoder is not functioning properly. I will repeat that this is not an isolated experience as it occurred on two separate Macs, of different ages and OS systems.

Media Encoder rendering failed

Hi

Using AME (CC 2015.2) with GPU acceleration (Windows 10 Quadro 4200 358.87 drivers)

Encoding fails all the time with some videos

In this particular case

Video format sources:

MXF (XAVC 4k Sony 8 bit 4.2.0)

Effects:

Speek Look (modified)

Gaussian Blur with Mask

Fast Color correction with mask (copy from Gaussian blur)

Transitions:

film dissolve

Export

h.264 1080p 25 VBR 10-12Mbbs

When using software rendering it ends-up well, when using GPU it crashes almost immediately or just after the first transition.

Also I have an error in premiere if I try to render the whole work area in GPU rendering. This consistent with the AME error. if one occurs, the other also does

Cleaning the Media cache helps in rendering preview in Premiere but not in AME :-(

And of course in this case software rendering is very slow :-(

This happens really often, it gets annoying.

Thanks in advance for your help.
