AME (and the Creative Cloud desktop app, but that's fixed for now) started bugging up on me a lot. It wouldn't start at all and if it would it probably crashed before I could put something on the queue. AME is a pretty big part of my workflow so I erased my system disk and started from scratch. Now I'm running Mavericks on a mid 2011 iMac with a Pegasus R6 thunderbolt raid. AME CC started nicely and it works, BUT I need a bunch of watch folders and for some reason AME bugs the hell out because of them. I need 4 watch folders with 29 targets shared between them. The files from the first folder go to the other folders etc. I tried making all the folders, then restarting AME to save the folders. AME crashes during startup when it tries to check the watch folder info. I can get AME to run when I unmount the Pegasus (and AME tells about the missing folders), but my media is on there so that doesn't help. If I start AME without the disk and mount it when the app has started it crashes.
This isn't isolated to the Pegasus RAID I tried the same with an external Firewire-drive and got the same results. Then I started trying to make a smaller amount of folders. I got up to 3 watch folders with 22 targets and that only worked if I didn't enable the auto rendering of watch folders. Then it would render the first four files and it would crash before it should add the rest of the files from the other folders. I managed to render the 22 files when I didn't auto-render and pressed the render button when the queue became ready after the first render. Then I added the last folders to the watch folder list and AME wouldn't start. I can fix the problem by resetting the presets, but that means I can't use the watch folders and that is crappy because I really need them.
AME CS6 works great. No hitches or sluggish behaviour of CC and fortunately it has the codecs I need at the moment. I think this is some bug that came with an update because it worked before. And because it crashes on the watch folders could it be that it's constantly trying to read them or something and crashing?
Every other CC app works perfectly. I just need the watch folders in AME to work.
I don't know if I done some watch folder faux pas because it worked before (and works now on CS6) but here's the diagram:
1st folder
-4 different versions, 3 of which go to the other watch folders.
2nd folder
-Makes 16 versions
3rd folder
-Makes 7 versions
4th folder
-Makes 2 versions
Any tips or should I wait for a patch?
